Homesickness and Socio-Cultural Adaptation towards Perceived Stress among International Students of a Public University in Sabah: An Exploration Study for Social Sustainability

When adolescents go overseas to study, they have face the challenge of adapting local cultures, homesickness, and dealing with stress. This study aimed investigate socio-cultural adaptation, perceived stress among international students in relation social sustainability a public university Sabah, Malaysia. research also related how manage both positive negative impacts on their life university. The included all that except Bruneian Indonesian students. sample group comprised 100 male female used four questionnaires: (i) Perceived Stress Scale, (ii) Homesickness (iii) Socio-cultural Adaptation (iv) Revised Sociocultural Scale. results indicated adaptation levels were significantly correlated, r (198) = 0.354, p < 0.05. level homesickness 0.314, outcome this can help lead better lives abroad, while arrange relevant activities them adapt cultures perceive less present underlined importance increasing decreasing studying at Sabah.
